Mark Poloncarz, the county executive was nursing his own beer while directing vaccine recipients to the county’s first Shot and a Chaser effort. How well did it work? Over pints of Beer on May 5, 1775, Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys met in the Catamount Tavern of Bennington, Vermont to plan their attack on British held Fort Ticonderoga. Five days later they captured the fort without firing a single shot. The captured cannons were transported to the heights overlooking Boston and their Machiavellian presence forced the British to evacuate that city.
