15 November On this day in 1980, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company of Chico, California brewed its first batch of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Many consider it the prototypical American Pale. An off-shot of the traditional English Style, Sierra Nevada used American hops which yielded a distinct citric-like flavor profile.
