Constellation Brands, makers of Corona Beer sold in the United States, announced plans to invest $ 5.5 Billion in Mexico over the next four years. This includes a new $ 1.5 billion dollar brewery in Vera Cruz. Once operational it will provide the company with capacity never realized when a water dispute caused it to abandon a nearly completed brewery in 2020, located in Mexicali. Constellation booked a loss of $ 700 Million on the closed Plant. Additional funds from the investment plan includes upgrades and expansion of Constellation’s two other Mexican breweries located in Obregón and Nava, Mexico.
