MORE →Ommegang Abbey Ale, Cooperstown, NY USA (Parent Company Duvel) – Crafted in the image of Belgian Dubbel, the reddish brown hues are almost Mahogany-like. Sitting atop this ale is a long-lasting, creamy-white head which elegantly laces down the glass. Flavor is Belgianish with deep malty sweetness, hard candy, caramel\toffee, honey and a light, spicy character that suggests citrus, clove, and vanilla. It has medium body and carbonation, finishing sweet and nearly sticky. VOTE for the NABA as Best Non-Profit and the Beer Fest as Best Annual event in Post Register
MORE →Over pints of Beer on May 5, 1775, Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys met in the Catamount Tavern of Bennington, Vermont to plan their attack on British held Fort Ticonderoga. Five days later they captured the fort without firing a single shot. The captured cannons were transported to the heights overlooking Boston and their Machiavellian presence forced the British to evacuate that city. Although the tavern is long gone there is a marker which commemorates the meeting place. Beer Fest tickets available now at MBBF.org or follow this
