  BEERS of the WORLD   Tank 7 Smokestack Series Farmhouse Ale, Boulevard Brewing, (Duvel-Moortgat), Kansas City, Missouri – A cake-like, frothy, foamy head quickly develops atop this bright, deep straw\amber colored beer. Aroma is typical of the style with a complex combination of bready, biscuity, peppery, earthy and herbal notes.                       Alaskan Smoked Porter, Alaskan Brewing Company; Juneau, Alaska – Pours dark brown with reddish highlights, rising above it is a medium head of off-white\light beige which never completely disappears as it laces down the glass. Smoke from Alder wood controls the aroma without obscuring the more subtle notes of roasted malt, cocoa and coffee. Flavor is of roasted malt, light chocolate, a touch of smoked meat as from Bamberg style beers and a woodiness that avoids a tannic bite.
