IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — The Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the North American Brewers Association (NABA), which has established an endowed scholarship fund to support students pursuing higher education across the Northwest.

Created through proceeds generated by the highly regarded Mountain Brewers Beer Fest, the new endowment will provide scholarship opportunities for students attending five regional colleges and universities: Idaho State University, College of Eastern Idaho, Boise State University, Weber State University, and Oregon State University.

Founded in Idaho Falls, the North American Brewers Association is best known for hosting the International Beer Awards and the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest, one of the nation’s premier beer festivals. For decades, the organization has used its events to give back to communities through charitable giving and educational support. The new endowed fund formalizes that commitment by creating a lasting source of scholarship funding for future generations of students.

“At Idaho Community Foundation, we’re honored to partner with organizations that turn community passion into meaningful impact,” said Rich Ballou, ICF Philanthropic Advisor for the East Region. “The North American Brewers Association has demonstrated how a beloved community event can create lasting opportunities for students, and we’re excited to help steward this fund for years to come.”

In addition to the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest, NABA hosts other charitable fundraising events, including Zoo Brew and Santa Crawl. Proceeds from these events support local and regional charitable organizations as well as the scholarship program. The association is powered entirely by volunteers.

“This fund reflects our belief that education creates opportunities that strengthen communities,” said Lisa Smith, Vice-President of NABA. “Through the support of festival attendees, sponsors, volunteers, and the craft brewing community, we are able to invest in students who will become future leaders throughout our region.”

By partnering with Idaho Community Foundation, NABA ensures the fund will be professionally managed and continue supporting students for generations to come. The endowment also offers donors and supporters a trusted philanthropic vehicle through which they can further expand the fund’s impact over time.
