In what seemed a great offer commuters on Japan’s Fuji Kyuko’s rail line learned of a promotion for free beer on July 25, 2002. Anyone reserving a seat on the Friday night ‘Beer Run’ could drink all the locally brewed beer they wanted. There was, however, a catch; the train had no toilets. This Day in Beer History

On this day in 1998, the USS Constitution “Old Ironsides” celebrated its 200th birthday. Navies from six foreign countries sent ships to join in the celebration and the Harpoon Brewery of Boston hosted a party for the thirsty and appreciative sailors. Beers of the World

Victoria formerly Grupo Model S.A. de C.V. Mexico – Representing an interpretation of the Vienna style, Victoria was one of the first beers in the company’s portfolio when it was formed in 1925. It has a deep amber color, a soft, quickly fading head. The beer generates a light malty aroma with a touch of caramel and light hints of biscuit. This Day in Beer History

An unusual business deal was finalized on this day, July 9th, in 1774. Brewer Thomas Robinson signed a lease to store his beer, aging barrels, in the cellar of the Newport Rhode Island Courthouse. It was the extension of a similar arrangement that dated back to 1771.
